I've seen five divorces of couples my age in the last three years. And two more will soon file for one. Unfortunately i've known all these people closely. And from what i gather the reasons are all similar in nature. Since they are all girlfriends
of mine, i only have a one sided perspective of the couples in
question. And since i am a woman myself, i more or less can identify
with them in most cases.
The reasons are
-incompatibility with inlaws
-incompatibility with the partner (emotional, physical,spiritual...all kinds)AND
-a feeling of being emotionally cheated by their husbands who are 'not the same anymore'
The third point reigns supreme amongst all girlfriends of mine. Guess this is the most common accusation made by almost cent percent of the women about their once-upon-a-time-boyfriend-now- husband. I have myself
accused Raj of this on many occasions.
What make our husbands 'not the same anymore'??
1. The bouquets of flowers vanish promptly after oaths are exchanged
2.The mobile which rang incessantly when we were being pursued, suddenly
stops ringing or rings when they call to say they'll be late at work,
or worse still, our calls are answered by pressing the 'c' or the red
button or (this ones the most common) they answer the phone only to say
' in a meeting, will call u in 5 minutes'.
3. Consoling time drastically drops from 2 days to 2 minutes.
4. Consoling means sex.
5. Candle light dinners invariably end up in arguments.
6.Birthdays and anniversaries are only about gifts....did i hear someone
say 'oh forget gifts, mine never remembers these days...'
7.'Babies' - a pet topic in the dating days suddenly become mamma's sole
responsibility. (Somehow the farthest a man can go in the
responsibility chart is to name the baby).
8. Weekends are always time for catching up on sleep and buying grocery.
9. The conversations on the dinner table (having dinner with your partner itself is a rare occasion) is mostly about office gossip. (i bet they cant even spell romance)
10. Promises are made, of course only to be....hmmmm
11. Snapping back becomes a common phenomena which of course is blamed on the bosses.
12. ALL wives according to ALL husbands are nags.

Sure, a lot of counter arguments can be made. But then this was just to understand what 'u are not the same anymore' possibly means.
Whoever said i had a fight with Raj???
